Wan Lin

Born in China, Wan started to learn piano at the age of 4. She has performed extensively, both in the US and internationally, including China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and London.

Wan enjoys teaching and works well with all ages, from beginning to advanced skills.

In addition to performing as a soloist, Wan is an active collaborative pianist: she enjoys playing chamber music and accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists.

She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, under the tutelage of Timothy Ehlen, with a cognate in Choral Music under the guidance of Andrew Megill. Wan holds a Master’s degree from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where she studied with the renowned pianist André Watts, and a bachelor’s from the Royal College of Music in London.

Working in the area of choral music, Wan leads the music worship team at UIUC Gospel Fellowship and serves as a Music Ministry Coordinator at the University of Baptist Church. She has been conductor and director of the Jasmine Field Orchestra Chorus, where she explores a wide range of choral repertoire with students at UIUC, since Summer 2021.
