Granny’s Porch
Virginia Theatre – Champaign, IL
Granny’s Porch is back at the Virginia Theatre, and C4A will be there!
This year’s theme is “Sousa meets the Mikado: Finishing the Unfinished.”
The Bow-Dacious String Band will open the show, and “Orchestra Sukoshi,” featuring C4A music faculty members and conducted by Kevin Kelly, will accompany a premier of a serenade by John Phillip Sousa and the finale to Gilbert & Sullivan’s Midako.
Guest artist, Nancy 3. Hoffman, will perform her special one-woman version of The Mikado, complete with “costume changes” and more!
Ron Hedlund, the Rushes, and the Champaign Park District Dance Arts School round out the roster of performers, with Gary O’Brien and Marlys Scarbrough returning to MC the evening.
Come early and enjoy pre-concert music presented by Celia Faux & Chris Reyman on accordions and Tom Faux on guitar!

The Bow-Dacious String Band will be performing at Market Place Mall’s “Family Fun Friday” on December 2, 2011 at 6:30 PM. The concert will be in the food court; there’s no admission. Come and enjoy these young performers.

Join C4A for a fun-filled afternoon of musical activities! This is a great family activity for a winter afternoon with live music performance and a chance to try out different instruments.

4:30 Live music performed on the carousel–You have to see this to believe it!
3:00 to 4:30: Try-It! We’ll have lots of instruments on hand and our teachers will show you how to play them. Lot’s of fun!
Valentine's Serenades
You name the location in Urbana, Champaign, or Savoy! –
Try something special for Valentine’s Day!
For a mere $50 we will send two professional musicians from our faculty to serenade your special someone(s) at the place of your choice. We’ll play for up to 15 minutes for your Valentine and deliver a special message from you if you wish.
You can choose your serenade team! Our traveling musicians play violin, accordion, guitar, mandolin, and ukulele. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request, but reserve the right to send a substitute musician if needed.
Our serenades are available in Champaign, Urbana, and Savoy. If you live in an outlying area we may be able to play for you by special arrangement. Please contact us with your request.

We reserve the right to reschedule serenades in the event of inclement weather or other hazardous driving conditions.
