Paul Mock has been a gigging guitarist in Central Illinois and Chicago since 2015, performing jazz, funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop, gospel, blues, rock, and metal. 

Locally he performs with members of UIUC jazz faculty and other luminaries, and has played at various music festivals such as Make Music Normal in Bloomington/Normal and Soul Fest in Peoria, and recently recorded and published an album of mostly original music entitled ‘MOCK5’. 

Paul holds a DMA in jazz performance from UIUC and recently published an article in the Rutgers Journal of Jazz Studies entitled “An Analysis of Mary Halvorson’s Improvisational and Compositional Style”
