This summer we’re offering two separate weeks of Blues Camp for high school age musicians on any instrument.
Over these two weeks we will be playing and learning about various styles of the blues: country blues, early blues singers, electrified Chicago style, jazz styles based on blues, blues-rock, and more. We’ll talk about the history and culture of the blues, the theoretical architecture of the blues, the many ways the term “blues” has been used, and we will do plenty of jamming.

The camp is directed by C4A faculty members Tom Faux and Chris Reyman, both of whom have played blues-related music for most of their lives. The week will culminate in a stage performance at a yet-to-be arranged public venue.
Blues week includes blues harmonica instruction for all participants–we will provide you with your own harmonica.
