C4A’s New Home! http://c-4a.org/2989/c4as-new-home/ http://c-4a.org/2989/c4as-new-home/#comments Tue, 14 Feb 2012 20:00:59 +0000 Robin http://c-4a.org/?p=2989 Continue reading →]]> I am very pleased to announce that in the coming months we will be moving into a large, lovely space in the center of downtown Urbana, on the corner of Main and Race, with studios on the second floor over Corson’s Guitar Store.  The exact timing of this move will be announced later, pending conversation with the IMC board of directors about details for our transition.

 The close proximity of music store and music school brings obvious benefits to both parties, but what we’re *most* excited about is the potential to create a new “music center” that will help ramp up activity in downtown Urbana.  Given this prime location, it’s possible to imagine downtown Urbana becoming known in the region for its vibrant music scene!  Obviously this fits our core mission of building local community through music very well.

  • What: Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair/C4A Benefit
  • When: Sunday, November 20, 11AM to 4PM
  • Where: Sylvia’s Irish Inn, 312 W. Green, Urbana
  • Registration fee: NONE!  Sylvia asks that 10% of your sales that day go to the Community Center for the Arts.  Since C4A is a tax-exempt organization the donations are deductible.
  • Suggested price range for items on sale: $5-50.  Work can be holiday theme or general in nature.

The Annual Children’s Art Festival is this coming Saturday (Oct 22nd) from 10am to 4pm at the IMC in downtown Urbana.  It’s free!  Kids of all ages welcome with adult supervision.

 Great interactive activities: painting, hoola hooping, double dutch roping, tap dancing, wii dancing, yoga, martial arts, drumming…

 Performances: Mo’ Betta, Bow-Dacious String Band, West African dancing, Capoeira, Class Act…

 Crafts: Picture frames, bookmarks, fuse beads, plastic string, clay, coloring…

 A chance to win: Hula hoops, moulding clay, jump ropes, beads…

 All this and more!

 Saturday, October 22nd

 10am – 4pm at the IMC
