Robin Kearton: C4A director, Violin, Viola, Fiddle, Bow-Dacious String Band, Bow-Zone Classical String Orchestra, Puppet camp
Robin is the founder and director of C4A and its flagship group, the Bow-Dacious String Band. She has enjoyed performing with professional orchestras and teaching violin and viola since 1983. She currently plays principal viola with the Champaign-Urbana Symphony and The Prairie Ensemble.
She loves to play non-classical music too, and has performed with bands specializing in Argentinean tango, old-time, bluegrass, country, klezmer, and café music.
Robin is certified to teach the Alexander Technique, and has been teaching since 1996, helping numerous musicians, dancers, computer users, and more to work and play more efficiently.
She also has a history with puppetry; Robin instigated the puppet theatre at the Discovery Center children’s museum in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, created and operated a character for a series of TV commercials in South Florida, and toured with Arts Alive! in central Florida.
