Chris Reyman: Piano, Accordion, Creative Play Workshop 

Pianist, accordionist and composer Chris Reyman began freelancing regularly in Central Illinois when he was attending high school in Decatur, Illinois and has been performing in the Champaign-Urbana area for the past ten years. He completed his Master’s and Doctorate from the University of Illinois in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Some of his performing credits include performances with David “Fathead” Newman, Jim Pugh, Chip McNeill, Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra and the Glenn Miller Orchestra. His compositions have been performed by the University of Illinois Concert Jazz Band, the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra, the Millikin University Jazz Band, the University of Illinois East-West Gamelan Ensemble and the Austin Wind Symphony. He completed a commission for the United States Air Force premier jazz ensemble the Airmen of Note and music for Lucas Martell’s animated short film “Pigeon Impossible” ( He is currently completing a film score for another animated short by Lucas Martell, “The Ocean Maker,” which is due to be completed by the end of 2013. He currently performs with Almost A Quintet, Tangotta and the music-dance collective CompostQ. He also teaches at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. Along with teaching, performing and composing, Chris is the co-founder of (, a collaboration with Sandra Paola López which focuses on the use of improvisation as a tool for human development and community building.
