Repertoire:

We’ll work on pieces from baroque, classical, romantic, and 20th century periods.  Some pieces will be easier for polishing, and others will be more challenging for expanding our capacities!

Our current repertoire came from the camp we had in July. Here is a list of pieces we performed with kids aged 10-14:

  • Mozart: Eine Kleine Nacht Musik, 1st movement, unabridged
  • Stravinsky:  “Lullaby” from The Firebird, arranged for this group
  • Beethoven: “Scherzo” from Symphony #2 in an arrangement true to the original string parts with added wind solos
  • Bizet: “Habenera” from Carmen arranged for this group

Once we get a repertoire set we’ll be scheduling outside gigs!

Eligibility:

  • Participants do not have to be a great sight readers, but should be able to interpret written music (needs to know how to “start at letter B” etc.)
  • Plays at least mid-to-late book 1 of Suzuki repertoire (knows about low 2) or has gone through a full year of public school instruction.
  • Ability to focus for a 1.5 hour rehearsal (with a break)
  • Ability to commit to attending most rehearsals.
