On Sunday, June 1, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM, Community Center for the Arts (C4A) will host “Race Street Bash,” a good old fashioned family friendly carnival with live music, a variety of musical try-it areas, games, local business vendors, face painting and more. Live music will be ongoing and will include jazz, string quartets, world and folk music, and tango. The festival will take place in front of C4A Studios at 103 N. Race Street, between Main Street and Goose Alley, in downtown Urbana. The festival is free and open to the public. Come out and celebrate the last official weekend before summer break starts! Dr. G’s BrainWorks, Urbana Free Library, H2O Hair Salon and several others will have games and activities set up.
In the event of rain, the festival will be moved indoors to Lincoln Square Mall.
June 1 is also the last public display of visual art from local artists, Nathan Westman and Dee Siegmund. Westerman’s art is for sale at the festival. Come out to Race Street on Sunday and catch it before it is too late.
